How to create new pages in Google Sites

After creating a new good looking website using Google Sites pre-built templates, you’ll be presented with pre-built pages. You can choose to modify these exisiting pages or create new ones. This tutorial will show how to create a new web page for your website.

Visit Google Sites at: https://sites.google.com and sign in with your Google account. Click 'New page' buttton in the top navigation bar.

You will then give your new page a name, select a template for it , and decide where it will be placed.


You can choose from a variety of pre-defined templates.

  • 'Web Page': This template is a standard webpage and will allow you to add content consisting of text, images, tables, videos, gadgets, and so on.
  • 'Announcements': This template will allow you to add posts and other users can comment and subscribe to your posts.
  • 'File Cabinet': This template will allow you to easily share files with your visitors. Your files can also be also into folders.
  • 'List': This template will allow you to create information as lists with columns and rows.
You can choose where to put your page.

  • 'Put page at the top lovel': This is usually for main pages in your site.
  • 'Put page under ...': Your page will be a sub-page of the current chosen page.
  • 'Choose a different location': Choose another page to group your new page.
Click 'CREATE' button to add the new page to your site.
