How to add your Blogger Blog site to Alexa account

Alexa (Click here to see how to create an Alexa account) is a useful website which tells useful information about your websites , especially about the traffic of the websites and how they are ranked on the internet. However, in some cases, Alexa did not have any data about your blog. Perhaps your Blogger blog is new or Alexa crawler has not discovered any links to your blog. Here are simple steps helping add your blog to Alexa so that it can be quickly crawled.

Step 1: Sign in to your Alexa account
Visit Alexa login in page at: http://www.alexa.com/login and sign in with your account.

Step 2: Enter your Blog address
Click "Site Tools" -> "Claim Your Site" or visit http://www.alexa.com/siteowners/claim.

Fill in the textbox with your blog address and click "Claim your site" button.

Step 3: Alexa verification ID
In the new page, locate your Alexa verification ID. One easy way to claim your blog is putting your Alexa verification ID in an HTML comment and put it any where under your blog HMTL tag. So in this step, copy your HTML comment containing Alexa verification ID by pressing Ctrl + C (or right-click and copy)

Step 4: Sign in to your blog
Visit Google Blogspot home page at: http://blogspot.com/ or http://www.blogger.com/ and sign in with your Google account.
Step 5: Go to your chosen blog Dashboard
A Google account can have many blogs. When you sign in to your blog, you are presented with the main dashboard. You can click any link (NEW POSTs, Edit Posts, etc....) under your chosen blog title to go to the dashboard of your chosen blog.

Step 6: Edit Google HMTL page

  • Choose Design / Edit HTML.
  • In the HTML code below, locate the tag <head>
  • Copy and paste your HMTL comment tag containing Alexa verification ID in Step 3 above any where below the tag <head>
  • Click SAVE TEMPLATE to successfully add your Alexa verification code to your Blog!
Step 7: Claim your blog
 Go back to the web page in Step 3 where you got your Alexa verification ID and click "Verifiy my ID" button.
