LockItTight is a useful and easy-to-use utility that helps monitoring your Laptop. Once installed, this application will run silently in the background of your laptop's operating systems and report its locations. This client application also captures your laptop’s working screen and takes camera shots in case your laptop having a webcam. These information are then sent and stored in LockItTight servers so that you can then access them from any computer by visiting LockItTight home page and logging using your account.
In case your laptop is stolen, you can track it's location and with shots from your laptop's webcam or screen shots of the desktop on your laptops can assist you in identifying the thief.

1. You can go to LockItTight home page at: http://www.lockittight.com/. Click the 'Free Signup' link as you would be required to enter the username and password during the installation of the application. You then fill in the form the neccessary information such as First name, Last name, Login name, Email, Password, and tick the agree 'Terms of use' check box.
Click the 'I accept. Create my account' button to finish signing up.

After registering for a free account, you can then download the LockItTight utility to install on your devices. The download link is available for most versions of Windows such as XP, 2003, Vista, Server 2008, 7
Now you can go to LockItTight website, login and configure the settings for monitoring your laptop. Click the 'Settings' link in the home page of your account.
In the 'Device Settings' page, you can configure the client application installed in your laptop to:
For paid and verified users, the installed application will obscure its presence. This means that there is no evidence of the installed client application in the system tray. Therefore, if your laptop is stolen, the thief will not know that the application exists and his activities are being monitored.
Now you can go to LockItTight website, login and configure the settings for monitoring your laptop. Click the 'Settings' link in the home page of your account.
In the 'Device Settings' page, you can configure the client application installed in your laptop to:
- Report your laptop's position.
- Capture your laptop's screen.
- Using your laptop's webcam to take pictures.
- Enable 'key logs', 'clipboard logs', 'remote file retrieval', 'remote file deletion'.
To see the location of your laptop, click the 'Locations' link. You laptop's locations will be updated every two hours for free accounts.
Notes:
- Your free LockItTight account can only be used for one laptop. You need to upgrade your free account if you have more than one device. For example, a 'Standard' account costs $1.99/device/month.
- The time interval for sending the report information from your laptop back to LockItTight server is two hours for the free account. For the 'Standard' accout it is every 30'.
- If there is no Internet, there wiil be no data for locating your stolen laptops.
