How to submit your blog/website to Google for indexing with Google Webmaster Tools

Google Webmaster Tools (GWT) is a set of free and easy tools helping website owners access their website data such as:
  • Which pages are added to Google’s Index
  • What search queries used to find the websites
  • Any website errors detected by Google
  • Which other sites added links to our websites
Google Webmaster Tools also allow submitting Blog/Website URLs to Google for indexing through 'Fetch as Googlebot tool'. This article describes how to use this useful tool.

Step 1: Login using Google Account
Login to your Google Webmaster Tools using your Google Account (click here to go to the Google Webmaster page).

Step 2: Go to your Blog dashboard
If you have not added our blog/website to Google Webmaster Tools, click here to see how.

In the home page of Google Webmaster Tools, click Manage link in Sites tab to go to your Blog Dashboard. Or you can choose to click your blog name under Sites tab.

Step 3: Use Fetch As Googlebot Tool
Choose Diagnostics -> 'Fetch As Googlebot' in your left navigation menu. In the URL textbox, you can leave blank to fetch your whole Blog or you can type in a specific URL. Press Fetch button.
If your URL's 'Fetch Status' is success you can then click 'Submit to index'.

You will be asked to choose whether to submit only the entered URL or all its linked pages.
Click submit to complete your task.
